MEET CARDINAL COUNSELING!

Welcome! My name is Shivani Bhakta, MS, LPC and I am the owner of Cardinal Counseling. I am a Board Certified Therapist that specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. I am trained in Eye movement Desensitization and Rehabilitation (EMDR), a scientific based treatment for trauma. 

The cardinal bird holds a very special place in my heart, hence my practice's name Cardinal Counseling! Besides being the state bird of North Carolina (where I am from), the cardinal also symbolizes many different things. When you see a cardinal, it symbolizes a loved one who has now passed. The cardinal also symbolizes a compass and change. These symbolizations follow along in my practice as I specialize in grief, life transitions, and trauma by counseling those looking for change.
